When Should My Child Take the ISEE/SSAT?

When Should My Child Take the ISEE/SSAT?
Register now to secure fall dates
Most independent school deadlines are in January or February, so
we recommend taking a first test in October or November.
This gives you plenty of time to prepare and, if needed, time to retest before applications are due.
Even with added dates for the new online tests, registration can fill up fast.
It’s a good idea to sign up for a fall test by mid-September.
Also, keep in mind that
there are some restrictions for taking the ISEE more than once.
ISEE divides the year into “testing seasons” (August-November, December-March, or April-July). Students are only allowed to take the ISEE once per season, for a maximum of three times per year. Taking a first test in October or November means they’ll be eligible to test again in the winter season starting in December. Be sure to check with individual schools to verify their cutoff dates for receiving scores.
You can take the SSAT as many times as you like.
